In Lahore, the first-place Lahore Qalandars and second-place Multan Sultans square off in a battle of the top teams.

The Qalandars haven’t missed a beat since losing to the Karachi Kings in their second game of the season and are currently unbeaten in four games.

While the Sultans have won four of their first six games, they most recently lost to the Karachi Kings by a score of 66 runs.

Lahore Qalandars won by one run when these two teams faced off at the beginning of the season, so another close game may be in the works.

 

Against Quetta Gladiators on Thursday, the Qalandars were in all kinds of difficulty on 50 for 7 before Sikandar Raza blasted 71 runs from 34 balls to help his side to 148 all out. They went on to win by 17 runs.

And it’s far from a one-off performance. The Zimbabwe international hasn’t been dismissed in his past three innings, producing explosive knocks of 32 not out (16) and 23 not out (10) alongside his half-century. Of players to score more than 30 runs in the tournament, no one can better his strike rate of 189.53.

There are match-winners galore on both sides but Raza will be a big wicket for the Sultans given his ability to alter the course of a innings off just a handful of deliveries.
